“…one person esteems one day above another; another esteems every day alike. Let each be fully convinced in his own mind…” Romans 14:5 (NKJV)

Spending time to nurture your conviction is one of the most important things you could ever do as a believer. This is because this is the process that helps you to come to a place of certainty in your walk with God. If you do not create the time to do this, the challenges of life will sweep you away. You will become a double-minded person (one who doubts) and the Bible has this to say about such a person: “…he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man supposed that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways…”James 1:6-7 (NKJV). Did you see that? So, make a conscious decision to create the time to nurture your convictions. Remember, no one can do this for you.

Why is this conviction necessary? You might ask. Well, it is necessary because without conviction, you can’t go far in Christ. Without conviction, you can’t stand the test of time or withstand the confrontations of life and trust me the confrontations of life are endless. It is only when you are convinced you can stand up against whatever it is that tries to shake your faith or discredit your beliefs. Only then can you stand like a rock no matter the rain or flood that comes.

So get back to God’s word today and begin to nurture your convictions in the faith. Paul the apostle, in making known his convictions said “…I am very sure that God, who began this good work in you will carry it on until it is finished on the day of Christ Jesus…” Philippians 1: (GNT). Be sure of your faith walk. Praise God!
