Ascension day concept: The scars In the hands of Jesus Christ over tombstone sunrise background

“…This, then, is how you should pray: ‘Our Father in heaven: May your holy name be honored; may your Kingdom come; may your will be done on earth as it is in heaven….” Matthew 6:9‭-‬10 (GNT)

In your walk with God how do you see God? Do you see Him as a Father or do you just see Him as God? What kind of relationship are you having with God? Is it one of God and subject? Or father and child? I know this question may sound ridiculous but on a more serious note, I want you to ponder on this in your quiet time because the answer you will come up with, will go a very long way to determining what your experiences with God will be like over time.

Over the years, I have noticed that the relationship some people have with God is that of God and the subject. In fact in some circles today, they teach you that God cannot be your father and that He is God and you are His subject. Now, that is partly true but the problem with this school of thought is that your relationship with God will be limited. You will always see God as one angry old man up there who wants to descend on you with anger. This is what many people have concluded about God but the question is, is that right about God? The answer is a big No.

Beloved, God is not an angry old man always looking for who to punish. God is a father with a large heart. He doesn’t see us as subjects, rather He sees us as children and wants us to relate with Him as a Father.  It was this mindset that our Lord Jesus Christ was trying to communicate to us when He taught His disciples how to approach God. He said, “…This, then, is how you should pray: ‘Our Father in heaven…” Matthew 6:9 ( NKJV). Did you see that? He gave this recommendation because God is truly a father and He wants us to approach God as a father. He wants us to have a father-and-child relationship because this kind of relationship has no limitations whatsoever. So, I encourage you today to see God is your father. Approach Him as your father you will be amazed how this will change your experience completely and give you testimonies that you never saw coming. Praise God!

Today’s Rhema

Our God is a father with a large heart, therefore approach Him and relate with Him as one!

Confession for the Day

Glorious and everliving Father, I thank you for this wonderful truth you have brought to me today. I decree that henceforth, I will relate with you as Father and as I do this,  I am experiencing a greater dimension of your fatherhood in the name of Jesus. Amen!
