Reject Unruly Behavior

Beautiful, powerful and artistic black man thinking.

“…Rebellion against him is as bad as witchcraft, and arrogance is as sinful as idolatry. Because you rejected the Lord’s command, he has rejected you as king…..”1 Samuel 15:23 (GNT)

One common behavior I have seen amongst many believers today is unruliness. They have no regards for fellow believers or leaders in the church or for the authority in their local church. In most cases, this behavior follows them everywhere and they pride themselves on having such character. But the question is, is this what the Lord wants from us? Does God want us to be unruly? Does God want such arrogant behavior from us? The answer is a very big NO.

God wants us to be sober minded and humble in all our ways. He wants our behavior and character to reflect the message of the Gospel which is love. But sadly many do not think in that direction which isn’t supposed to be so. God wants us to walk in love at all times. The reason is because when we walk in love, we will be humble and not be arrogant. The Bible says, “…Love is patient and kind; it is not jealous or conceited or proud; love is not ill-mannered or selfish or irritable; love does not keep a record of wrongs; love is not happy with evil, but is happy with the truth…”

1 Corinthians 13:4‭-‬6 (GNT). Did you see that? I want you to take note of the word that was used here. The Bible says, “…love is not ill-mannered or selfish or irritable…” Now, when you understand this truth you will not give in to arrogance, rather you make a conscious decision to walk in love and be respectful to those around you and above you. So, I encourage you to reject unruly behavior at all costs. Never go in that path because it’s a path of destruction.

Today’s Rhema

If you don’t reject unruly behavior, the likelihood that you will face rejection is fat!

Confession for the Day

Glorious and everliving Father, I thank you for the word of counsel today. I choose this day to reject unruly behavior. I made up my mind to work in love and show people respect in the name of Jesus. Amen!
