men touching each other's foreheads

“let us not give up the habit of meeting together, as some are doing. Instead, let us encourage one another all the more since you see that the Day of the Lord is coming nearer…” Hebrews 10:25 (GNT)

Having discussed the importance of associating with other believers, some would say, “well, I am not a public person and am not interested in socializing”. Well, that is not a valid argument because we are not talking about socializing here. We are talking about associating with men and women who believe in the same thing that you believe. We are talking about you making a conscious decision to move with God’s people and not be alone. We are talking about putting your opinions aside and doing what the word of God says. If the word of God says we should not neglect the gathering of the saints, then that is what we should be doing and nothing else. Sadly, many people don’t think following God’s word is necessary, but you see I learnt a long time ago to always dance to the tune of the word of God and the reason is because, anything that God recommends, has a blessing if only you will take it seriously.

For example, when God’s word says we should not neglect or forsake the gathering of the saints, there are many benefits hidden in these instructions. Remember, the amplified classic says,“…‭‭Not forsaking or neglecting to assemble together [as believers], as is the habit of some people, but admonishing (warning, urging, and encouraging) one another, and all the more faithfully as you see the day approaching…” Hebrews 10:25 (AMPC). Now, when we take a close look at this scripture, it says, encouragement is one benefit that you will enjoy. When the enemy tries to discourage you over certain issues, the moment you come to fellowship with the others, you will receive encouragement but when you are alone, that discouragement can turn into something else.

Warning is another benefit you get when you associate with others. There are people today, who have nobody to talk to instruct them when they are in the wrong. They have no one to caution them, but you see, when you are in the midst of others, you can easily be cautioned when you begin to stray. It’s called accountability. I could go on and on, but the benefits of fellowshipping with others cannot be overemphasized. So, I admonish you today to take this seriously and make a conscious decision to move with other believers and not move alone. Hallelujah!

Today’s Rhema

Associating with other believers has many benefits that can change your life!

Confession for the Day

Father, I am grateful for your counsel. I choose this day to  take association with other believers seriously.  And as I do this, every blessing that this association has to offer goes with me in Jesus name. Amen!
