“…father, he said, “if you will, take this cup of suffering away from me. Not my will, however, but your will be done…” Luke 22:42 (GNT)
One very important lesson from our opening text, is how our Lord Jesus Christ prioritized God’s will for His life. He wanted so badly for the cup of suffering to pass over him, but in the midst of this desire, He was still able to say to the Father, not my will but yours be done. Why? Because He understood that the Father’s will was more important.
Beloved, if you are going to have a bright and fruitful future, you must learn to prioritize the will of the Father. You must fight to know the will of God and walk in it because that is where the key to your destiny lies.
We live in a world today where most people don’t care to know or do the will of the father. They only care about what they want and not what the Father wants. This is the reason, there are so many unfulfilled people out there because many of God’s people are not interested in the will of the Father.
However, if you truly want to have a glorious life filled with wonderful testimonies, you must make a conscious decision to go for the will of the Father. Our Lord Jesus Christ showed us a wonderful example by choosing to do the will of the Father, and when He was done, the Bible records that “…God raised him to the highest place above and gave him the name that is greater than any other name…” Philippians 2:9 (GNT). And “…in honor of the name of Jesus all beings in heaven, on earth, and in the world below will fall on their knees and all will openly proclaim that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father…” Philippians 2:10 (GNT).
So, the question is, what does God want you to do? Know His will for your life and do the needful. Remember, no matter how good your desires may be, God’s will is always better. Hallelujah!

Confession for the Day
Father, I am grateful for opening my eyes to the truth in your word. I choose this day to do your will and not my will. And as I do your will, I am walking in the blessings, honor and lifting that goes with doing your will. Hallelujah!
