“…So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one….” Ezekiel 22:30 NKJV)
Over the last couple of years, there has been one issue or another in the different nations of the world. From natural disasters, to terrorist attacks and many more. And as a result, many lives have been lost. But the question is, in all these, are we supposed to fold our hands and watch as Christians? The answer is no.
As believers, we have a responsibility to engage in intercessory prayers for the different nations of the world, because that is the will of God. God is looking for men and women who will stand in the gap for the people and nations of the world. The Bible says in our opening text, “…I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one…” Ezekiel 22:30 NKJV). When we look at the scripture, we see that it is God’s desire for someone to rise and stand in the gap, but the challenge is that very few people are willing to do this, which ought not to be so.
It is our responsibility to stand in the gap for nations of the world in prayer. You may think well, my prayers won’t do much, but that is not true. When you spend your time praying for others, God honors your time and your prayers and through your prayers, preservation and deliverance can come to a people or a nation. So, no matter the discouragement, never hesitate to pray for nations of the world, especially in these unsettled times. Praise God!

Confession for the Day
Glorious and ever living Father, I thank you for reminding me of the need to intercede for nations. I choose this day to take up this responsibility and I decree that as I stand in the gap, my prayers are bearing fruits and making impact in different nations of the world in the name of Jesus. Amen!
