…nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth? —Luke 18:8 (NKJV)

Beloved, do you want to pray and see a desired result? If your answer is yes, then persistence in prayer is the essential way forward. In the verses preceding our opening text, the Master shared the parable of the persistent widow who kept approaching a judge to receive justice. Although the judge initially refused to act, he eventually decided to grant her request simply because she would not stop coming to him.

At the conclusion of this parable, Jesus told us to listen to what the unjust judge said. He then asked if God would not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, even if He seems to bear long with them. He assured us that God will avenge His children speedily. The Master asked this question to emphasize the vital importance of persistence in prayer and the necessity of waiting on the Lord.

In your times of difficulty, are you persistent enough in your petitions, or have you given up too soon? Persistence in prayer is a clear sign that you are still operating in faith. If you persist in your petitions to God, He will always come through for you. However, the challenge remains: will you be persistent enough to keep trusting God for a miracle through the test of time?

As Christians, we must fight to win in this specific area of our walk with the Father. Sadly, many believers today become weak and withdraw when they face tough times. The Bible warns us about the dangers of losing our spiritual stamina when things get difficult.

If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small. —Proverbs 24:10 (NKJV)

Make a conscious decision to remain in faith, no matter how long it takes to see the manifestation of your answer. Make no room for fear in your heart, for you have not been given a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. If you hold on long enough, your faith will prevail over every circumstance you face.

Do not be like those who give up when they are confronted by difficult situations. Many people do not realize that giving up is never a solution to their problems. The real solution comes when you maintain your stand in faith and insist on your miracle. If you hold your ground, God will surely bring your testimony to pass.

Without persistence in prayer, the answers to your prayers will be resisted, so persist in prayers until you get the answers to your prayers!

Confession for the day

My faith is alive, active and working; therefore, I refuse to cower in the face of adversity. I refuse to give up or give in. I will keep holding on and exercising my faith until I prevail in my quest in the name of Jesus. Amen!
