Every man needs God’s direction; no man can be an island, and no man can excel without knowing where to go or what to do. A man who does not have direction or does not know what to do in life can be said to not have listened to instructions regarding the direction to take in life or he can be said to have heard but not yielded to instructions. If you truly want to excel in life and bring order to yourself, you must make a conscious decision to pay close attention to what God is saying. In Proverbs 29:18, the Bible says, “…a nation without God’s guidance is a nation without order…” meaning that if you lack direction or guidance from God, your life will be in disorder and you do not want this. So, you must give priority to hearing from God.
Now, there are many ways God gives us direction for the next level. It could be through visions or dreams, through the study of his word or through a conversation with a colleague. All you need to do is pay attention. Remember, these instructions can come in different forms, but it is God who chooses how to communicate with you. But you must be wise enough to pay attention and discern God’s communication to you. Every vision or communication comes with its own unique instruction, which can be understood by the study of the word of God and by interpretation given to us by the Holy Spirit. Therefore, as you journey with God in your walk with Him, pay more attention to what He is saying to you and learn to always ask the Holy Spirit for interpretation and it will be given to you. You might say but is this so necessary? Well, it is not just necessary; it is a must. God is the one who created you, and He is the one who knows what you should do and how you should go to excel. So, if He is trying to give you direction and you ignore it, then you are ignoring your mercy. However, if you can choose to start paying attention to God and following His guidance, the sky will be your stepping stone. Praise God!
