“Love never gives up; and its faith, hope, and patience never fail.” – 1 Corinthians 13:7 (GNT)
Have you been feeling like giving up on everything lately? Are you on the verge of giving up on a job, a relationship, or a business? If so, here’s a word for you: God doesn’t want you to give up, no matter the challenges you face. Why? Because giving up is not an act of love.
This might sound unusual, but it’s true. The urge to quit doesn’t align with the nature of love that God has given you in Christ Jesus. When you feel like giving up, it means you’re stepping outside of love, and when you’re not walking in love, you’re not reflecting the nature of your heavenly Father.
The Bible tells us in our opening text that “Love never gives up; and its faith, hope, and patience never fail” (1 Corinthians 13:7 GNT). Did you catch that? Love endures, supported by unwavering faith, hope, and patience.
So, no matter what you’re experiencing right now, choose to walk in love and refuse to give up. Temptations to quit will arise, but don’t yield to them. Instead, activate love by exercising faith, holding on to hope, and cultivating patience. When these qualities operate within you, love is fully at work—and when love is at work, you will overcome every challenge and emerge victorious.
Make the decision today to walk in love and persevere. Love never fails. Hallelujah!
