“I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, [2] with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.”
— Ephesians 4:1-3 (NKJV)
Does your character reflect the Gospel? Does it prove that you are a representative of our Lord Jesus Christ? I know this question may seem direct, but it’s essential for self-examination. As a believer, does your conduct showcase your growth in Christ? If not, it may be time to revisit the foundation of your faith.
Beloved, being in Christ or regularly attending church isn’t enough. It’s not enough to claim a relationship with Jesus—you must go beyond these claims and embody the character of our Lord. Jesus wasn’t hot-tempered, arrogant, rude, or unforgiving. Even when He was beaten, mocked, and spat upon, He didn’t curse His oppressors. Instead, He prayed, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do” (Luke 23:34).
Despite enduring unimaginable trials, Jesus remained steadfast, demonstrating humility, patience, and love. He understood His identity, His mission, and what God expected of Him.
Now, ask yourself: Do you understand your purpose and what God desires from you? Are you aware of how He expects you to treat others? If not, it’s time to align your character with Scripture. When your life reflects the Gospel, you not only represent Jesus well but also inspire others to come to Him.
