God’s Spirit has given us life; He must also control our lives.
—Galatians 5:25 (GNT)
Do you desire to live the authentic Christ life? Do you want to please God and walk in the path He has ordained for you? Then you must allow the Spirit of God, who has given you life, to take full control of your life. In other words, you must consciously yield yourself to the leadership of the Holy Spirit in all that you do. This is the only way the Spirit can have His way in your life and guide you along the path God wants you to follow.
Unfortunately, this is not the experience of many believers today. Although they have received the Holy Spirit, they are not yielded to His ministry. They neither listen to Him nor make any effort to follow His leading. Instead, they do their own thing, acting as though the Holy Spirit is not present in their lives. They are so self-controlled that even when the Spirit is leading them, they fail to recognize it.
Such believers are more yielded to the desires of the flesh than to the desires of the Spirit. As a result, when they ask God for something and do not receive it, they become offended. They assume God is unwilling to bless them, but that is not the case. The issue is that they have not aligned themselves with the system God has established for reaching and blessing them.
Beloved, if you truly want to receive from God and enjoy the many blessings available in Christ Jesus, you cannot do so by yielding to the flesh. These blessings are accessed only through the leading of the Spirit. Did you see that? If the blessings are made available through the Spirit of God, then you must be yielded to the Holy Spirit in order to unlock them.
Therefore, make a conscious decision to submit to the Holy Spirit and allow Him to guide your actions and decisions. Paul the Apostle puts it clearly when he says, God’s Spirit has given us life; He must also control our lives. This means you must be fully yielded to the Holy Spirit and give Him room to express Himself through you.
Now consider this carefully: if you refuse to yield to the Spirit of God, another spirit will still find expression through your life. It will not be the Spirit of God, but a destructive influence, and the outcome will not be pleasant. So be guided, choose wisely, and do what is needful.
Today’s Rhema
If you truly want to receive from God and enjoy the many blessings available in Christ Jesus, you must yield to the Spirit of God and not to the flesh.
Confession for the Day
Father, I am grateful for this wonderful truth. I choose today to be fully yielded to Your Spirit, and I commit to following His leadership in my life. As I follow the leading of the Holy Spirit, I declare that I am bearing fruit on every side, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
