“…all Scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching the truth, rebuking error, correcting faults, and giving instruction for right living…” 2 Timothy 3:16 (GNT)

Beloved, what fuels your decision when you make important decisions in your life? Is it the word of God or the situation in the world? I know this question might sound ridiculous to some people but think about this question for a moment. The last important decision you made, was it made based on an insight from the opinions of God in the scriptures, or the opinion of the world? Over the years, I have seen many of God’s children make bad decisions in their lives and the reason is because what fueled their decisions was not the word of God. However, if you are going to start making the right decisions that will impact your life positively, you must learn how to make those decisions based on what God has said concerning those things in His word.

For example, when it comes to getting married as a believer, you will do well to marry someone who shares the same beliefs as you. Why? When God was advising the Israelites about this, He told them never to marry the people from the land He was giving to them and He had a good reason for that. He said, “…do not marry any of them and do not let your children marry any of them, because then they would lead your children away from the Lord to worship other gods. If that happens, the Lord will be angry with you and destroy you at once…” Deuteronomy 7:3-4 (GNT). Did you see that? Their decisions from that moment were going to be based on God’s instructions to them. Now, as it was with them in those days, that is how it is with us today. Whatever decision you want to make in your life should be fueled by God’s word and opinion. When you do this, you won’t make decisions that will affect your life negatively. Hallelujah!
