“…for no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. If anyone builds on this foundation using Gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straws, their work will be shown for what it is…“ —1 Corinthians 3:11-13a (NIV)
When a man wants to build a house, he must first consider the type of house he wants to build. After deciding that, he must lay a foundation that will keep the house standing. But it is important to be aware of the different kinds because the type of foundation used to build a skyscraper would never be the type of foundation used to build a bungalow. All houses have the foundation that best suits them; because of the height they must reach. Short houses require shallow foundations, while high-rise buildings require a deeper foundation. Now, just as foundations determine the kind of house that will be built, your foundation will also determine the kind of life that you will have. The quality of life you are going to live as a Christian in this world is completely dependent on the kind of foundation you are willing to lay. If your dreams are big, then you must be ready to lay a
solid foundation that will hold that dream of yours. If you don’t, then you will build your dreams on weak foundations, which will crumble in the long run.
So in order not to waste your time, you must make a conscious decision to lay a foundation that is equal to the kind of dreams and future you want to have. You might ask, “What kind of foundation do I need to lay to have my dreams come true? Well, the foundation you must lay is your walk with Christ, because He is the solid foundation needed to have a blissful life on earth and have your dreams met. He Himself said, “…as the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. I am the vine you are the branches. He who abides in me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without me you can do nothing…” John 15: 4-5 (NKJV).
Now, if you are going to bear fruit, as He said, you must lay your foundation based on the principles of God’s word, which He brought to us, without which your Christian walk may just be in vain. As a Christian, it is important that you take this very seriously and build based on God’s principles. When you do, faith, hope, and love will well up in your spirit. Faith to stay in God and subdue this world will be strengthened in you, hope in the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ will be born in you; and the ability to love the Lord with all your heart and love others as well, will rise up in you like an edifice. Therefore, I encourage you to lay your foundation in Christ, for it is the secret to living a quality life with all your dreams met. When you follow Him and His teachings, you will be equipped for a brighter future. There is no other foundation other than Him, and there will be no other foundation apart from Him. So, get to work now and start laying the right foundation in Christ that will sustain the future you foresee. Praise God!

CONFESSIONS FOR THE DAY
I declare that Jesus Christ is the solid rock on which I stand. He is the bedrock and foundation of my life and existence. His foundations of faith, hope, and love are my foundation to build upon. And I declare that as I build upon them, using these foundations, all that I do stands in Jesus name. Amen!
