“Be glad in the Lord and rejoice, you righteous; and shout for joy, all you upright in heart” —Psalms 32:11 NKJV)

One of the most common responses you see from people who are going through some difficult moments in their lives is to wear a moody face and be very sad. They tend to stay this way because they don’t see any reason why they should be happy. They don’t see any reason why they should brighten up. So they carry the burden of their challenges everywhere they go, as though the whole world has come to an end. But you see, this is not the way God wants us to respond to the challenges of life. He does not want us to respond with sadness but with joy and laughter, because this is the attitude that brings us victory. If you get sad over the difficulties that you are going through, it will not change anything; rather, it will make things worse. So the best thing would be to maintain a happy mood and laugh at the situation because you know that you already have the victory. So I say to you that whatever you are going through right now, it is not a time to be sad but a time to laugh. Just laugh and laugh again.

You might say, What does laughter have to do with the present situation I am going through? Well, when you laugh in the midst of pressure and challenges, you exercise authority over that challenge and deprive it of the right to rule over you. The truth you must know is that if you don’t laugh off the burden, you will get immersed in it and not be able to come out of it. So I admonish you to laugh off the burden and maintain focus. You might say, But after I have laughed, what next? Well, “…do not fret or have anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests) with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God. And God’s peace (shall be yours, that tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace) which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus…” (Philippians 4:6-7 AMPC) Hallelujah!

Confession for the Day

Father, in the name of Jesus, I thank you for educating me on the best way to respond in times of challenge. I declare that henceforth, all manner of sadness is far removed from me, and by the power of the Holy Ghost, only joy and laughter will fill my life. Praise God!
