“…Sanctify them through thy truth, thy word is truth….”John 17:17 (KJV)

Peter, James, and John saw Jesus die. And so did Mary His mother, and Thomas. Before their eyes He was beaten, He was bruised, He was pierced. And right before them, He said to God, “into your hands I commend my spirit.” Luke 23:46(NKJV). And He was gone, I mean He was dead. The spirit of our Lord left His body and His death was registered. He was not in a coma, He died, and He was very dead. Everyone around Him saw it. Many called their friends around to be a witness to His death. His mother was there, His disciples witnessed it. The Death of Jesus Christ was not a fake death, they saw blood and water gush out of Him as the Roman soldier pierced His side. So it’s not a surprise that Thomas felt, nobody could tell him otherwise because he knew what he saw. He saw the blood as it gushed out of his side, as His heart ruptured. It was blood and water. He saw his Lord lying lifeless as they brought Him down from the cross. The very life in Him had gone, journeyed into the world of the Unknown.

But on a certain day, people started to say to one another, that they had seen the Lord walking on the street. Many could not believe it, many doubted that this was possible even though Jesus already told them earlier that He would rise again from the dead. The bible recorded saying that “…Jesus began to explain to His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things at the hands of the elders, the chief priests and the teachers of the law, and that He must be killed and on the third day raised to life….” Matthew 16:21 (NIV). But yet it was difficult for them to accept that the Lord had come back because they had believed too much in what they saw. They didn’t hold on to the truth in the word of the Lord which they had heard. They didn’t expect Him to rise back from the dead because they were lost in the seeing realm the way many of God’s people are today. They have experienced a lot of things in their lives, to the point that they never expect there could be a possible solution. However, it is important to understand that life goes beyond what you see. Always remember that the word of God is the only truth, so it doesn’t matter what the situation is. God always designs a way to escape. So take your eyes away from the pressures, and receive a solution in the truth of God’s word. Refuse to dwell in the seeing realm and dwell in the realm of God’s word which is the truth you require to win in life. Praise God!

TODAY’S RHEMA

Hold on to the truth, the truth is what the word of God has revealed to you!

CONFESSION FOR THE DAY

Thank you, Father, for giving me access to your truth and for making the truth known to me in your word. I receive your truth concerning me and concerning everything I do. I declare that every step I take in life will be dependent on the truth in your words and not the deception in the situation I experienced. Praise God.
