Be generous, and you will be prosperous. Help others, and you will be helped. —Proverbs 11:25 (GNT)

Do you want to always find help when you need it? It is possible. The secret is to do all you can to help others when they need it most, and you will surely be helped when your time comes.

As simple as this might sound, this is the key to receiving help at all times. Unfortunately, many believers today don’t live like this. They want to be helped, but they are unwilling to help others. When you have this mindset, you are doing the opposite of what the scripture says.

In the New Testament, our Lord Jesus Christ taught a similar principle, a strong statement that should be taken seriously:

Give to others, and God will give to you. Indeed, you will receive a full measure, a generous helping, poured into your hands—all that you can hold. The measure you use for others is the one that God will use for you. —Luke 6:38 (GNT)

So, I admonish you today to take this counsel seriously. If you want to receive help in your life, you must first sow the seed of helping others. Don’t be like the prodigal son. The Bible records his tragic situation:

…he spent everything he had. Then a severe famine spread over that country, and he was left without a thing. So he went to work for one of the citizens of that country, who sent him out to his farm to take care of the pigs. He wished he could fill himself with the bean pods the pigs ate, but no one gave him anything to eat. —Luke 15:14-16 (GNT)

Did you see that? No one gave him anything, likely because he had given to no one. If you do not want this to be your reality, make a conscious decision to always help others. In doing so, you set yourself up to be helped by them. Hallelujah!

Today’s Rhema

When you help others, you will surely receive help as well!

Confession for the Day

Thank you, Father, for bringing me this word. I declare today that the grace and willingness to help others are at work in me. As I help others, I will not lack help, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
