“…Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another….” Romans 12:10 (NKJV)
As you journey in your Christian walk, one thing you must learn to do is to have respect for others. We live in a generation where people have no respect for others. Many are walking in ignorance, arrogance and pride, and this has made them unable to maintain any meaningful relationships. But God in His infinite mercy wants you to have regards and respect for others, irrespective of their race, age, societal status, or religion. Remember, Christ has paid the price for all men, whether they believe it or not, and we have a responsibility to understand this and give respect to all men. The Bible says, “….be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another…” Romans 12:10 (NKJV). In another part of the scriptures, the Bible says, “…Honor all people…” 1Peter 2:17 (NKJV). The Amplified version puts it this way, “…show respect for all men [treat them honorably]…” 1 Peter 2:17 (AMPC). This is the path God wants us to follow.
So, as you journey in Christian walk, make it a point of duty to show respect to everyone. Become mindful of the way you treat others, no matter their positions in life. Refuse to be like some people out there, who only show respect for people with societal status. You should have respect and regard for everyone, whether they are politicians or cab drivers. Their societal status should not be a factor in showing them respect. The only valid factor is that Jesus died for everyone and for that reason, everyone deserves your respect. Everyone deserves to be spoken to gracefully and treated like royalty. Train yourself to do this, and you will watch your life and relationships move from glory to glory! Hallelujah!
Today’s Rhema
Have respect for all men, irrespective of their race, age, religion or societal status!
Confession for the Day
Father, I am grateful for your counsel today. I choose this day to treat everyone with honor and respect. I refuse to be arrogant or disrespectful. I refuse to be proud or mean to people because I know who I am and by your Spirit, I know what is expected of me at every given time. Praise God!
