Then Jesus called a little child to Him, set him in the midst of them, and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 18:2-4 NKJV)
When I was a child, I believed many stories that, as an adult, I realized didn’t make sense. One such story was about Santa Claus. I truly believed he was real—that I could write him a letter, make a wish, and he would make it come true. As I grew older, I learned it was just a story. But as a child, I believed it wholeheartedly because that’s what I was told.
Children have a unique ability to believe without questioning. If you tell a child that Jesus is God, they’ll believe it. If you say, “Jesus will save you when you’re in trouble,” they’ll trust it completely. Even if you tell them, “Jesus is with you everywhere you go,” they’ll accept it without doubt. This childlike faith is what God asks of us. He wants us to believe in Him without questioning His ability, His works, or His existence. He desires that we trust in His power to do the impossible.
Your faith in God and His promises is what gives you victory over the enemy’s schemes. As God’s child, you have His Word in the Bible. If you hold firmly to His promises, without doubt, and grow from faith to faith, you’ll begin to experience His miracle-working power in your life. Praise God!
