“...He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him…” Isaiah 53:5 (NKJV)

Most people do not know that the sin of the first man Adam brought debt to all men. Men became indebted to sin and the only way to pay back this debt was to die because the Bible declares that “…the wages of sin is death…” Romans 6:23 (NKJV)

Now, our Lord Jesus Christ paid this price by dying for you and me. When He died, He was paying the price we should have paid. Today, we are no longer in debt because our Lord Jesus Christ paid that price. Every claim of justice that came with that debt has been satisfied by our Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible records that He was delivered up for our offences (Romans 4:25). “…He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him…” Isaiah 53:5 (NKJV). Did you see that? All that we were supposed to suffer, He did for us.

Now, your responsibility is to live your life in this victory. Remember, the devil will still act as though nothing happened on the cross and try to frustrate your life. He would try to run your life and lay claims over your life. He would try to dominate you and frustrate the affairs of your life, but it is your responsibility to use the truth you have learnt today to fight back. Acting on the knowledge of this truth is your advantage over the schemes of the devil. So, take this seriously and live your life from this place of victory. Hallelujah!

Jesus paid your debt and satisfied the claims of Justice!

Confession for the Day

Father, I am grateful for this ultimate price that was paid for me. I thank you for sending your son Jesus Christ to pay my debt. I am grateful for this, and I choose to take this privilege seriously and do the best I can do with it in Jesus’ name. Amen!
