“…my commandment is this: love one another, just as I love you…” John 15:12 (GNT)

A major trait that is reducing drastically in the world today is love. It is the reason for all the calamities going on in our societies and according to the bible it is going to get worse for it is written, “…Because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold…” Matthew 24:12-13 (NKJV) However, as a Christian, we are the ones called to show the world how to love again because “the love of God is poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us” (Romans 5:5 NKJV) He came into our lives, to teach us how to love like Jesus. Therefore, we must submit ourselves to His ministry and let Him teach us to love like Jesus. Jesus Christ in His earthly ministry was a man who loved the way nobody did. The people around Him marveled because He was a friend to everybody. He didn’t consider status, caste or whatsoever. He loved everyone that came to Him both the sinners and those who were righteous. He knew this was the only way to win the people He was called to deliver. So He loved them even with their mess and this same love drove Him to the cross where He paid the ultimate price. He loved like the father and today He expects us to love like Him. He gave us the ministry of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:18) which can only be effective if we walk in love.

Therefore, we have a responsibility to love like Jesus because this is our calling. We have been called not only to love those who are already Christians but also those who are not yet of the faith. Sometimes, we tend to love only those who are of the faith, but the truth remains that if we love them alone, we will never be able to win those who are not yet of the faith. So it is important that we love like Jesus. Let your presence communicate the very love of God. Let men and women decide to know Jesus because of the way you love. Let the world see the beauty of God’s love through you. If you can do this, you are ready to carry out the ministry of reconciliation and fulfill the command that says “…you shall love your neighbor as yourself…” Matthew 22:39 (NKJV). So wait no longer, begin today to love like Jesus and remember “…love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up, does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails…” 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 (NKJV) Halleluiah!

TODAY’S RHEMA

Until and unless you love those who are not yet of the faith, you are not ready to fulfil the ministry of reconciliation!

CONFESSION FOR THE DAY

The ministry of reconciliation has been given to me therefore I declare that I have a responsibility to carry it out by first walking in love and loving like Jesus. No matter what comes my way, I declare that I am committed to live and love like Jesus because this is who I am and this is the life that I have been called to live! Praise God!
