“The LORD is good to all, and His tender mercies are over all His works.” —Psalm 145:9 (NKJV)

Over the years, many people, through wrong teaching, have been led to think that God is an angry old Man sitting in heaven and waiting to consume His children with fire. Many have come to believe this lie, and because of it, their relationship with God has been greatly affected. They stay away from God and from anything that has to do with Him because they feel that He is about to destroy them with fire.

But they never stopped to ask whether this idea is true or not. They still see God as the God of the Old Testament, not realizing that the New Testament is now in operation through the finished work of our Lord Jesus Christ. Beloved, you must fight to believe the right things in life because wrong beliefs will push your life in the wrong direction.

A careful study of the Scriptures shows us that God is not angry with His children. The Bible records that “God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” —John 3:16 (NKJV) It also says that “God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them.” —2 Corinthians 5:19 (NKJV). This means that God has reconciled Himself to man, and it is now man’s responsibility to reconcile himself to God.

God is no longer looking for the man or woman He will punish, because the punishment that was supposed to come upon us already came upon Jesus. The Bible says, “The LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.” —Isaiah 53:6 (GNB). So God is not on a hunt for those He wants to destroy or punish. God is reconciling man to Himself. He is looking for those He wants to show mercy, because Jesus Christ has already paid the price for us.

The question now is, will you drop the old notion and embrace the fact that God wants to love you and shower His blessings on you? Will you drop what you think you know about God and accept what He has said about you? You should, because that is the reality.

God is not going around looking for whom to bully, but whom He wants to love. Give Him the opportunity to lavish on you the love He demonstrated when He sent His Son, Jesus, to take your place. So accept Him and His love, and get to know Him by embracing Jesus and His finished work. Praise God!

Today’s Rhema

God is not looking for people to punish but people to lavish His love on!

Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, what a joy to discover how loving and lovely You are! I am grateful for what You have done for me in Christ Jesus. I declare that in all that I do, I take full advantage of the finished work of our Lord Jesus Christ, and I manifest Your glory in all things, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
