“David said, ‘The Lord, who has delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear, He will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.’”(1 Samuel 17:37 NKJV)

When life’s challenges press in, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed—as if your world is collapsing. In those moments, we often forget past victories God has given us. We neglect to remember that the same God who delivered us then is ready to deliver us again today. Whatever you’re facing right now, know this: all hope is not lost.

The Bible records that when David stepped forward to face Goliath, even King Saul doubted him: “Saul said to David, ‘You are not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him; for you are but a youth, and he a man of war from his youth.’”(1 Samuel 17:33 NKJV). Yet David’s confidence was rooted in remembrance of God’s past deliverances. He declared, “The Lord, who has delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear, He will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine”(1 Samuel 17:37 NKJV).

David’s victory came not merely when he slung the stone, but when he remembered what God had already done for him. That remembrance fueled his faith and empowered his victory.

Beloved, the same principle applies to you. Take time today to recall every situation God has rescued you from—both the obvious and the hidden. Let those memories become your confidence now. As you step into your current battles remembering past deliverances, you position yourself for triumph. Hallelujah!

Today’s Rhema

David did not win that battle when he let the stone go; he won it when he remembered what God had done for him in the past!

Confession for the Day

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for reminding me of Your faithfulness. I know that because You delivered me before, You will do it again. Therefore, I cast my worries aside and put my faith in You, Your Word, and Your power. As I do, I will triumph over every challenge, in Jesus’ name. Hallelujah!
