“…Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need…”Hebrews 4:16 (NKJV)

Having established the need for going after the mercy of God as the key ingredient needed to achieve anything tangible in life, someone might say, why do I need the mercy of God when I am very good at what I do? Well, it is the mercy of God that amplifies whatever capabilities that you might have and if you do not recognize this, a time will come when those capabilities will fail you.

Over the years, I have watched people who were very good at what they did struggle to get and keep opportunities because they ignored the role of the mercy of God in their lives. I have seen well-qualified people who have remained broke and jobless while less qualified people do well financially. I have seen gifted people sitting idle while the less-gifted ones are all over the place displaying relevance in various capacities. The question is, why do these ones stand out? It’s simple, the mercy of God is the secret sauce. These ones who are not so beautiful or gifted or qualified, have learnt how to access the mercy of God which is mostly ignored by the beautiful and qualified ones, because somehow, they unconsciously put their faith in how good they are and not in the mercy of God.

So, if you truly want to make your gift or qualifications count, you must understand that it is the mercy of God that makes the difference, and you have to learn how to go for it. Interestingly, when you go for the mercy of God, the Bible records that you will find grace to use in time of need (Hebrews 4:16). So become conscious of the role of the mercy of God and learn how to access it in your life. The Psalmist knew the importance of the mercy of God and he cried out saying, “…have mercy upon me, O God, according to Your lovingkindness; according to the multitude of Your tender mercies…” Psalms 51:1 (NKJV) and guess what? he lived an exceptional life. Hallelujah!

Today’s Rhema

When you go for the mercy of God, you will always be relevant irrespective of your weaknesses and shortcomings!

Confession for the Day

Lord, I am grateful for making it possible to receive your mercy. I choose this day to never ignore the role of your mercy in my life. I acknowledge the mercies of God in my life and as I put my faith to work, I will accomplish great results in life in Jesus’ Name. Amen!
