“Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.”(James 4:8 NKJV)

Did you know it’s possible to be in Christ but not close to Him? It’s true. Many believers attend church weekly yet lack a deep connection with Jesus. This happens because they don’t fully understand what it means to be close to Him.

Beloved, receiving Jesus into your life is only the beginning. To experience true intimacy with Him, you must make a conscious decision to draw near. The Bible says, “Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you” (James 4:8 NKJV). Notice the condition: God draws near to you when you first draw near to Him. This isn’t automatic; it’s intentional.

To draw near to Jesus, begin with a decision and follow through with action. Spend time in worship, prayer, and studying the Word of God. Make church attendance a priority and engage in fellowship with other believers. These practices deepen your intimacy with the Lord.

Even Jesus modeled this for us. He often withdrew to pray and commune with God. The Bible says, “It came to pass in those days that He went out to the mountain to pray and continued all night in prayer to God” (Luke 6:12 NKJV). Another account says, “When He had sent the multitudes away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray. Now when evening came, He was alone there” (Matthew 14:23 NKJV).

If Jesus made time to draw near to God, how much more should we? As you prioritize time with Him, you’ll carry His presence and see extraordinary results in your life. Your testimonies will be different, and your life will reflect His glory. Hallelujah!

Confession for the Day

Father, I am grateful for this timely message. I declare that the grace to draw near to You is at work in me. As I draw near to You, I manifest Your presence and make tremendous impact in the world, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
