“…I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of Judgement…” —Matthew 5:22 (NKJV)

Anger is an emotion expressed when we are offended or irritated by something or someone. It is a gift God has given us to help us express the way we feel when we are dissatisfied. However, it becomes abuse when we are not able to manage it and let it get out of hand. As a child of God, it is important to mount guard over your anger and bring it under control, as well as to ensure that you don’t get angry without a cause. When you take a quick look at our opening scripture, Jesus said something striking that we need to look into. He said, “Whoever is angry with his brother without a cause…” meaning that it is possible to be angry without a cause, but the truth is, this kind of anger is dangerous and could be detrimental to your life. Anger stirred by someone or something already could be destructive, much less anger without a cause, which is more dangerous. Our Lord Jesus Christ said whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of judgement…” Matthew 5:22 (NKJV)

So if you do not want to be in danger of judgment, then you must make a conscious decision to refrain from being angry without a cause, especially anger towards your neighbor. I discovered that sometimes people get angry with their neighbors for no reason. You see people who are staying with each other, not happy with themselves, and when you ask them what’s going on, they don’t have any real reason to give. They just whine and grind, but you see, when it comes to this, you have left the confines of love, and now, you are walking in hatred. I remember speaking to somebody who wasn’t just happy with his neighbor, and the person did not even know it. Another time, I was having a conversation with someone who gets angry for no reason. He is not angry with anybody, but he is just angry, and when he gets to this point, all that comes to mind is to fight and destroy which ends up putting him in the wrong light. All these kinds of anger are no longer mere expressions of an emotion, they are now a manifestation of demonic manipulation. So be encouraged to purposely monitor your anger. It is always better to walk in love. If you are walking in love – God’s kind of love- anger will not be an issue. You will gain control over it easily.
