“…if you abide in Me and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you…” —John 15:7 (NKJV)
As you journey with God in Christ Jesus, there is a certain truth you must come to terms with, to have a fruitful walk with God. You must understand that there is the person of Jesus and then, the principles of Jesus. The two of them are not the same thing. The person of Jesus will bring you salvation for the Bible declares that whosoever believes in Jesus will not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16) but the principles of Jesus will bring you character, transform your lifestyle and help you to prosper because He said “…if you abide in Me and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you…” John 15:7 (NKJV).
Now, from this you discover that you are not only to embrace the person of Jesus Christ but you have to embrace His teachings. The principles of Jesus Christ can only be found in His words. A man who does not follow the principles of Jesus Christ cannot really see the kind of results that the Bible speaks about and He can never be the kind of person that God has destined Him to be. Jesus did not only come to die for our sins but to bring to us a way of life that brings glory to God. So it’s important to take His words seriously because that’s where you get to know about the kind of life He wants us to
live. One of the greatest challenges God’s people face today, is that they do not know how God wants them to live, so they end up living their lives with the wrong principles which is not God’s plan for you. However, if you choose this day to delight yourself in the principles of Jesus, you will always win and conquer any circumstances that the devil tries to bring your way. Interestingly, everything else will fail but the principles of Jesus Christ will never fail. And because the principles of our Lord Jesus Christ do not fail, you will not fail as well because you are an ardent follower of His principles.

Confession for the Day
Thank you Lord, for this wonderful counsel. I choose this day to embrace your word and adopt the principles in my life. I choose to live by the principles communicated to me in the word and as I do this, I am walking in the blessings of the principles of Jesus. Hallelujah!
