He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come and see the place where the Lord lay. And go quickly and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead. —Matthew 28:6–7 (NKJV)
Do you know that one of the greatest things Jesus accomplished for you through His death and resurrection is the defeat of death itself? This single truth is what makes Christianity different from every other belief system. No other man has ever conquered death—and none ever will—because Jesus already did it once and for all.
When we speak boldly about the finished works of Jesus, many don’t understand why we rejoice so much. They may call us fanatics, but if they truly grasped what Jesus did, they would shout for joy too. After three days in the grave, Jesus rose again—He triumphed over death and declared, “I am the First and the Last. I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.” —Revelation 1:17–18 (NKJV)
When He did this, He didn’t do it for Himself alone—He did it for you. Because you are now in Christ, death has no victory over you. It cannot hold you captive, for Jesus broke its power forever. The Bible says, “If we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him.” —Romans 6:7–9 (NKJV)
This is your reality too. When your time comes to be with the Father, it will not be death claiming you—it will be you stepping into eternal life, already won for you by Jesus. So as you reflect on His death, burial, and resurrection, remember that death was defeated for your sake. Rejoice and live every day with the confidence of that victory. Hallelujah!

Confession for the Day
Thank You, Lord Jesus, for defeating death on my behalf. I can never repay You for all You’ve done, but I choose to live in the reality of Your finished work—today and all the days of my life. Amen!
