“….Now it came to pass in those days that He went out to the mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God….”Luke 6:12 (NKJV)
When we take a good look at the life and ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ, you will agree with me that He was a very busy person. He went from one place to another teaching and ministering to people. He was always in the midst of multitude ministering to them and attending to their needs. But something significant I noticed about Him was that, in the midst of His busy schedule, He would withdraw to a secluded place to go and pray. He did not do this just once but many times. On one occasion the Bible recorded that “…..And when He had sent the multitudes away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray. Now when evening came, He was alone there….”Matthew 14:23 (NKJV). Did you see that???
Now, when we take a look at the way He was always withdrawing Himself from that busy schedule just to spend some time with God, you will see that He understood the importance and the role of God in His life while on earth, so He formed the habit of creating time for God. He knew that without spending time with God, time spent with men will not be productive, therefore He made spending time with God a priority and He created time for it. Beloved, if you are going to win with men and subdue the manipulations of the enemy, you must learn to create time for God. It’s something you do deliberately, if you want your experiences in life to be a glorious one. The biggest mistake I have seen many of God’s people make is that they do not know when to withdraw and be with God. They tend to be too busy to the point where they ignore the one who gave them life and makes life on earth a jolly ride. When this happens, they begin to encounter so many difficulties and problems in life. Beloved, I know you do not want this to be your experience in life. So, I encourage you today to deliberately create time for God. Create time to pray, worship and serve His purposes. When you do this, your life will not remain the same. Praise God!
