“…when Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face and went out and stood at the mouth of a cave. Then a voice said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah…” 1 Kings 19:13 (NIV)

Yeah, I know you love your life the way it is. Nothing to add or subtract from it. You’ve stuck to the same routine year after year, and you are just fine the way your life is. You wake up in the morning, say a little prayer, make your breakfast, go to work and come back home at night, then go to bed, getting ready for the next day’s job. And of course, I wouldn’t forget to mention that you go to church on Sunday and you catch up with some friends in the evening for a little game or chat. You repeat this same routine every week. And the years go by, and this is all you do.

So, you live a safe life, and you are quite comfortable with it. But what you are doing is hiding behind your busy schedule, pretending not to have room for anything other now than what you are currently engaging in. Your current schedule has no extra time for fellowship or extra commitment to God. Your current schedule gives you no time to improve your life, so you think your life is just the way you want it and the way it should be. But you don’t know what you are missing out on because you don’t want to add any headaches to your life.

Do you know that your life is supposed to be more meaningful than just going to work and earning a living? Do you realize that God has a purpose for your life which you may not have started fulfilling because you’ve not created the time? What if you chose to improve your timetable? Will it be so bad to include a little extra time for God? Will fasting and prayer day be so bad on your timetable? What about some days of Bible study at the nearest study group? The two Saturdays of soul winning, and early Morning Prayer at the assembly you attend? Will it be so bad to create room so you can spend extra time achieving God’s purpose and plan for your life? You should consider creating room, so you can do more for God than what you are doing now. “Sow for yourselves righteousness; reap steadfast love; break up your fallow ground, for its time to seek the Lord, that he may come and rain righteousness upon you.” Hosea 10:12 (ESV)

Today’s Rhema

Improve your standard of living by creating more room for God in it!

Confession for the Day

Thank you, Father! I affirm that it’s time to seek you, it’s time to give you attention, and it’s time to create more room for you in my life. Am getting busy now, getting busy loving you, and giving you the attention you deserve. Amen!
