Men raise their arms to thank God.

“…but the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such, there is no law…” Galatians 5:22 (NKJV)

One of the things the devil uses to plague the children of God time and again is grief, sadness and sorrow. And because many are ignorant of the devices of the devil, they fall prey and are continually sad and depressed. However, this is not the pattern of life God wants us to live. Sadness, grief and sorrow are all the tools of the devil to make you weak in faith and keep you down in life. But it is your responsibility to ensure that this does not become the case. Make up your mind you will stand up to the devil and let him know that depression is not part of your DNA. Until and unless you make this decision, he will always come again and again to taunt you and tempt you.

So you must fight to stay happy at all times, even when the situation does not warrant it. Someone might say, but I can’t just be happy when there is no reason to be happy? Well, that is where many of God’s people get it wrong. They wait for external events to make them happy. Beloved, if you keep waiting for your circumstances to make you happy, you will find yourself sad most of the time because there will always be something happening to make you sad.

As believers, our joy is not derived from external happenings. Instead, it is one of the fruits that the Spirit of God inside of you produces. When you are a believer who is not always joyful, it shows you are not allowing the Holy Spirit to gain expression in your life in that area. Therefore, to avoid this, make a conscious decision to yield to the Holy Spirit and you will surely manifest joy at all times. Remember, “…the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit….” Romans 14:17 (NKJV) Hallelujah!

Today’s Rhema

If you keep waiting for an external force or happenings to make you happy, you will find yourself sad most of the time!

Confession for the Day

Father, I am so grateful for this wonderful truth you have brought to me today, I choose this day to be yielded to the Holy Spirit, I choose to be joyful based on the operations of the Holy Spirit in me and I refuse to be sad in Jesus name. Amen!
