Be Consistent with God

Hands together in praying to God along with the holy bible book

“…and they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers…” Acts 2:42 (NKJV)

One of the things I have always admired about the early Christians was their unwavering consistency in their faith. The Bible records the remarkable results this produced in their lives: “They enjoyed favor with all the people” (Acts 2:47). Notice how continuing daily in fellowship at the temple, sharing meals together in their homes, and praising God with glad and sincere hearts led to this favor. They consistently lived out what they believed.  This is the kind of consistency God desires from us as Christians.

Many people struggle in life because of inconsistency in their faith walk. They rarely attend church to receive God’s word, seldom study the Bible, and may even neglect prayer. Yet, they desire a smooth life. Let me be clear: consistent practices don’t guarantee a problem-free life. However, when these practices become habits, we are less likely to get stuck in life’s ruts. Through God’s word and prayer, we are strengthened to face challenges and emerge victorious, no matter the devil’s attempts to frustrate us.

I urge you to consider these points. Ask yourself honestly: “Am I consistent in my Christian walk? In prayer, studying God’s word, and putting His word into action?”  Answering these questions sincerely can be a wake-up call, prompting you to begin a steadfast and dedicated walk with Jesus. Don’t be half-hearted. Be among those Christ will return for, by fully submitting your will to His.  Emulate the early church – **continue in the apostles’ teachings, the fellowship, the breaking of bread, and the prayers” (Acts 2:42). Watch your life transform from glory to glory. Praise God!
