“(Then) beware lest thou forget the Lord, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage” — Deuteronomy 6:12 (KJV)
There are times when we get overwhelmed with life’s demands, trying to work things out on our own, only to forget that we already have all the help we need. In one of those moments, as I was trying to juggle several things at once, I heard that still, small voice say, “Let Me help you.” I realized I had been so focused on doing everything myself that I unconsciously overlooked the fact that I have the Holy Spirit—the one who never fails.
The verse from Psalm 77:11 came to mind, “I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago” (NIV). Right then, I prayed, asking the Holy Spirit to take over what I had been struggling with. To my amazement, what once seemed difficult became easy, and what overwhelmed me before became as simple as writing my name. All I could do was thank the Holy Spirit for His timely help.
You may pray, fast, and study the Word of God regularly, but without a constant awareness of the Holy Spirit’s presence in you, it is incomplete. Many times, we unknowingly ignore His presence, which can diminish our communication and fellowship with Him. But the truth is, we cannot succeed without Him. He is the one who brings our expectations to pass, the performer of miracles, and our Ever-present help.
We must always remain conscious of His presence, maintaining fellowship and conversation with Him daily. As we do this, we open the door for His power to work on our behalf in all situations. Hallelujah!
