“…let each of you look out not only for his interests but also for the interests of others…” Philippians 2:4 (NKJV)

Does the terrible news around the world bother you? Does it make you pause and reflect? Or do you simply move on, thinking these problems don’t affect you?

If that’s the case, here’s something to consider: As Christians, we’re called to be the light of the world and the salt of the earth (Matthew 5:13-14). This means the world’s happenings should create in you a burden to pray and intercede for others.

Sadly, sometimes we’re so focused on ourselves that we forget the struggles of those around us. We get caught up in our own lives and neglect our responsibility to others.

This needs to change. God wants us to be concerned Christians, part of the solution to the world’s problems. He calls us to take responsibility and show compassion for what’s happening around us, motivating us to pray.

Ignoring these issues is irresponsible. God saved us and brought us into the world not just for ourselves, but to be the answer to the cries of millions. He wants us to be his representatives and show his glory.

So, make a conscious decision to care about what’s happening around you. Concern leads to prayer, and prayer can bring change and release peace.

Be encouraged today to look beyond yourself and show concern for others. As Philippians 2:4 (NKJV) says, “Let each of you look out not only for his own interests but also for the interests of others.”  Galatians 6:2 adds, “…bear one another’s burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ…”

So, what will you choose? Become a responsible Christian today and fulfill your ministry to the world. After all, “the earnest expectation of creation eagerly awaits the revealing of the sons of God” (Romans 8:20). Hallelujah!

Today’s Rhema

A concerned Christian is a plus to his world and not a minus!

Confession for the Day

I am a concerned Christian and I care about what is happening around me, therefore, I declare that I’m an agent of change in my world. I’m making an impact and solving problems because I’m the light of the world and the salt of the earth, I will not lose my taste but fulfill my purpose in Jesus name. Amen!
