Each one, as a good manager of God’s different gifts, must use for the good of others the special gift he has received from God. —1 Peter 4:10 (GNT)
As you grow in Christ, you must aspire to achieve more for Jesus and become more for Him using the gifts He has placed within you. If you are currently a member of a church, you should aspire to become a committed worker. If you are already a worker, look toward becoming a leader within your group. The Father wants you to go further because there is always more to be done for the Master.
Unfortunately, many believers lack these aspirations entirely. They often want God to do more for them, but never stop to ask what they could do for the Lord. I once spoke with a young man and encouraged him to become a laborer in God’s vineyard, but he remarked that if everyone became a laborer, there would be no members left to fill the seats. This encounter made me realize that many people in Christ are not willing to be relevant to the work of the Father. However, God does not want us to live this way. He does not want us to be idle members of the body who contribute nothing to its growth.
God wants you to be a useful and relevant part of the body of Christ. It is not enough to simply receive salvation; you should strive to be responsible for something or someone within the church. Many people aspire to become heads of departments in their companies but never seek to grow within the church. When you live this way, you are being unintentionally selfish toward God.
Make a conscious decision to become more for God today. He gave you every talent and opportunity you possess so that you can expand the body and propagate the Gospel. Understanding this truth helps you step into your divine purpose and establishes you in His will. These aspirations help you gather fruit that will speak for you throughout eternity. Do not wait any longer; get to work and become more for Him.
