I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. —Philippians 3:14 (ESV)
In his letter, the Apostle Paul shared a powerful truth that deserves our attention. He spoke of pressing toward a goal, specifically the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. I believe he was successful in this because of how the Gospel flourished in his hands. From his example, we can conclude that for anything significant to be achieved in life, a definite goal must be clearly established.
Many people today have countless plans and various things they hope to achieve, but pursuing too many paths at once often leads to achieving none of them. It is not an easy task to accomplish a multitude of objectives simultaneously. While multitasking has its place, it must be governed by a singular, definite goal to remain effective.
Pursuing scattered plans brings distractions and results in misplaced attention. No matter how much you desire to achieve, you cannot spread yourself too thin and expect greatness. This is why you must have a definite goal for your life. Do not be like those who try to grasp everything at once only to lose focus.
A clear objective helps you organize your plans and directs your effort toward the areas that require immediate results. I encourage you today to go back to the drawing board. Take the time to plan again because this discipline will help you narrow down your focus and develop a proper execution plan. When your energy is concentrated, your success is inevitable. Praise God!
