“…and your ears shall hear a word behind you saying, “This is the way, walk in it.” When you turn to the right or when you turn to the left…” —Isaiah 30:21 (ESV)

If you expected oranges but got limes, what would you do? If you expected a car to pick you up at the office but it didn’t show up, how would you get home? If you expected to be clothed with honor but were stripped naked in shame, how would you respond? Your response to disappointments will vary based on the situation at hand, but in all, there will always be a need to decide what your experience will be. Life will always give you choices. Sometimes you have to make a choice between love or hate, cursing or blessing, peace or conflict. Our life experiences are often dependent on the choices we make.

So if for example, you are left with a choice between peace and conflict, the only thing you are expected to do is choose the one you would rather have. The thing about choices in life is that no one can make our choices for us and we will live with the consequences of the choices that we make. Adam, in Genesis 3:6 allowed his wife to feed him from the tree God said they should not eat, and he lived with the consequences of being thrown out of the Garden of Eden. This means the choices we make will determine our experiences. So whatever you are going through, whether good or bad, the outcome will be based on the decision you made as you faced the challenges in your life.

The power to decide how a matter will end still lies in our hands, no matter the circumstances. If we choose well, we live well. So you can actually make the right choice at every given time, which will ultimately determine the experiences we will have.

Today’s Rhema

Our life’s experiences is a choice, and you need to make the right choice to experience the right things

Confession for the Day

Glorious God! I thank you because you are faithful and true. I thank you for the ability you gave me to make choices in life. I make use of this ability by making the right choices and ensuring that no challenge will keep me down or incapacitate me in Jesus’ Name. Amen!
