“But the angel said to them, ‘Don’t be afraid! I am here with good news for you, which will bring great joy to all the people. This very day in David’s town your Savior was born—Christ the Lord!’” (Luke 2:10-11 GNT)
One of the most profound aspects of Christmas is that it celebrates the gift of salvation. While it may seem simple, salvation is one of the greatest gifts God has ever given to humanity.
When Adam fell, the Bible tells us that sin entered the world, and death was passed on to all people (Romans 5:12). This meant that every person born into the world was subject to sin and spiritual death. However, Jesus Christ came to change that narrative for anyone who believes in and accepts His sacrifice.
Through His death and resurrection, Jesus paid the ultimate price for sin and granted us the privilege of receiving the gift of salvation (John 3:15-16). Today, as believers, we are no longer sinners but are declared righteous in Christ Jesus. We have been saved and are no longer subject to spiritual death. Instead, we have passed from death to life through the finished work of Jesus.
This Christmas, as you celebrate, remember that you are celebrating more than just a season—you are honoring the gift of salvation and eternal life. While some may not fully understand or appreciate this, for us as believers, it is the most remarkable thing that has ever happened.
So, celebrate with this consciousness and take every opportunity to share the good news of salvation with others.
