But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth. —Acts 1:8 (NKJV)

Beloved, do you know that you have a personal ministry to fulfill in Christ? If not, it is important to understand this calling and take it seriously. Before Jesus ascended to heaven, He spoke to His disciples, giving them the commission we read in our opening scripture (Acts 1:8).

There are two key points in His statement: first, they would receive power when the Holy Spirit came upon them. Second, they would become His witnesses. This means they were given a ministry to tell people everywhere about Jesus Christ and what He came to do. He said this to clarify a major part of their responsibility: letting others know about the wonderful sacrifice He made for us.

Today, this same ministry has been given to us, and we ought to make it personal. It’s a special calling every believer must embrace to contribute to God’s end-time plan for humanity. As a believer, you have a call on your life to be a witness for Jesus and to preach the unsearchable riches of His glorious Gospel wherever you find yourself.

Some may not see this as important, but it is a present-day reality for every active member of the body of Christ. Christianity is more than just attending church, receiving God’s Word, and going home. It is a calling God has bestowed on us with great trust, for the Bible says He “…has given us the ministry of reconciliation…” (2 Corinthians 5:18, NKJV). Therefore, I encourage you to take this seriously and activate your personal ministry today.

Today’s Rhema

There is a ministry to fulfill in Christ Jesus, and it must be given attention!

Confession for the Day

Father, I am grateful for this reminder of my ministry in Christ Jesus. I choose to take it seriously, and as I do, I receive the grace and wisdom to excel in it, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
