“…when you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you. For I am the Lord your God, The Holy One of Israel, your saviour; I gave Egypt for your ransom, Ethiopia and Seba in your place. Since you were precious in my sight, you have been honoured and I have loved you…” Isaiah 43:2-4 (NKJV)
In our opening text, we see God reassuring the Israelites of His unwavering love for them. He said, no harm would come to them, because they were precious in His sight. In the same way, you also are precious in His sight. It might surprise you to know that He cares for you more than you could possibly care for yourself. But the question is, do you believe this? Do you know that God loves you this much? Do you live with the consciousness of this truth every day of your life? If you do, you will stop worrying, complaining and getting troubled over the affairs of life. If you do, you would rather rest in Him than get yourself worked up.
I encourage you to live in the consciousness of this truth. Let it be your confidence that you are beloved of God and are precious in His sight. Refuse to allow your situation or circumstances make you think otherwise. When people go through certain difficulties in their lives, they often begin to think that God does not love them, but the truth remains that your circumstances have nothing to do with God’s love. The fact that God loves you does not mean you won’t go through challenges; but when you do, He will be with you through them. This was why He said in our opening text, “…when you pass through deep waters, I will be with you; your troubles will not overwhelm you. When you pass through the fire, you will not be burned; the hard trials that come will not hurt, for I am the Lord your God, the holy God of Israel, who saves you..” Isaiah 43:2. So, be confident of the Father’s love. Hallelujah!
