If we say that we are in the light, yet hate others, we are in the darkness to this very hour. If we love others, we live in the light, and so there is nothing in us that will cause someone else to sin. (1 John 2:9-10 GNT)

Some statements in Scripture demand serious attention. One such statement is found in our opening text: If we say that we are in the light, yet hate others, we are in the darkness to this very hour. If we love others, we live in the light, and so there is nothing in us that will cause someone else to sin. (1 John 2:9-10 GNT). Did you catch that? The question is, have you been walking in love toward others? As simple as this question may sound, it reveals whether you are living in alignment with God’s will.

At times, we claim to love others, but our actions tell a different story. We say we walk in love, but our words, attitudes, and reactions to the mistakes of others suggest otherwise. Consider how some people respond to offense—they become so angry that it makes you question whether they truly walk in love. The same applies to how people handle correction. Their defensive or resentful reactions often reveal a lack of genuine love. These behaviors are common among many believers today, but this is not the path God has called us to follow.

In His infinite mercy, God calls us to walk authentically in love. If we fail to do so, we remain in darkness. Therefore, make a deliberate decision to love others with the love of God. To achieve this, you must understand what the Bible says about love: Love endures long and is patient and kind; love never is envious nor boils over with jealousy, is not boastful or vainglorious, does not display itself haughtily. It is not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride); it is not rude (unmannerly) and does not act unbecomingly. Love (God’s love in us) does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking; it is not touchy or fretful or resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong]. It does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness but rejoices when right and truth prevail. Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening]. (1 Corinthians 13:4-7 AMPC). So, let’s get to work. Hallelujah!

Today’s Rhema

If you are not intentionally walking in love towards others, you are not in light but in darkness!

Confession for the Day

Today, I have received a powerful revelation about love. I choose to walk in love toward God and my neighbors, and as I do, I unlock the blessings that love brings, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
