The poor widow and the unjust judge. Biblical story

“…I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth? “ – Luke 18:8 (NKJV)

If Jesus were to come to you today in your situation, will He find faith in you? I know this question might come to you as a surprise but seriously, will He still find faith in you? I asked this question because, when you study the preceding verses before the one in our opening text (Luke 18:1-7), you will realise that our Lord Jesus Christ was giving the parable of a certain woman who kept on going to meet a judge to get justice for her, irrespective of his reluctance. At first the judge didn’t want to respond to the woman but after a while, he decided to do something for her so that she can stop disturbing him. Now, our Lord Jesus Christ, pointed out that if the unjust judge could finally listen to the lady, what about God? So He said “…shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them? Luke 18:7. Then He said, “…I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth? “- Luke 18:8 (NKJV).

When we take a look at this question, it calls to mind, the reality that every Christian will have to face, and that is, when Jesus Christ comes, will He find men and women who are still holding on in faith, irrespective of the odds? Seriously, this is a question, I believe we must all consider because sometimes the challenges of life can make you lose patience and become faithless. However, no matter what you face in your life, it is important that you keep holding on in faith. I know that pressures can sometimes be tough, but you have a responsibility to keep your faith alive because that is what guarantees that you will come out of that situation. That is what guarantees that your faith will endure at the end of the day. So as you journey in your faith walk today, make sure that your faith remains alive even in the face of adversity. Make sure your faith endures enough to be able to see you through that situation and don’t you ever think of giving up. The devil’s goal is to make you weary, but your responsibility is to resist Him and stand your ground knowing well, that if the unjust judge could attend to this woman, then God who is the righteous judge will definitely do much for you in due time. Halleluiah!

Today’s Rhema

If the unjust judge could attend to this woman, then God, the righteous judge, will definitely attend to you in due time!

Confession for the Day

My faith and trust is in you oh God, therefore no matter what I face or go through, I refuse to allow the pressures of life to shake my faith. I will remain standing no matter what happens and against all odds, my faith prevails over all situations in the name of Jesus. Amen!
