“All I want is to know Christ and to experience the power of his resurrection, to share in his sufferings and become like him in his death, in the hope that I myself will be raised from death to life.” — Philippians 3:10-11 (GNT)

What we just read in our opening text are the words of Paul the Apostle. After many years of ministry, his desire was still to know Christ more deeply. Even after accomplishing so much in his ministry, his primary pursuit remained centered on knowing Christ. This relentless hunger for a deeper relationship with the Lord is how it should be for every believer.

As you journey through life, your foremost concern should always be your relationship with God. Sadly, many fail to prioritize this. For instance, during this season, while people are often consumed by regrets over unaccomplished goals, few pause to reflect on their spiritual standing. Many started the year with a passionate hunger for God, but now, as the year draws to a close, that hunger has dwindled. Some who began the year committed to church and active in ministry have become indifferent, and it doesn’t seem to trouble them. Is this how God intends for us to live? Certainly not.

As the year wraps up, it is important to take a moment and reflect on your relationship with God. Ask yourself: Has your walk with Him improved, or has it grown cold? Did you finish the Bible this year? How many Christian materials did you consume this year? What new revelation of the scriptures did you add to your bank of revelation? How many people got closer to God or reconciled with God because of you? How many people received salvation because of you? These reflections are essential because they will shape your priorities for the coming year. Remember, your relationship with God is the most enduring and significant aspect of your life. Everything else will fade, but your connection with Him is eternal.

So, ponder on these things and desire to know God more. It is not enough to count all the things God did not do, you should desire to know God more and the power of His resurrection.

Today’s Rhema

As the year is about to come to an end, ponder on where you are with God, so that you can know where to improve!

Confession for the Day

Father, I am grateful to you for reminding me of what I need to focus on now. Therefore, I receive grace to hunger for more of You and to strengthen my relationship with You. As I pursue this path, I am growing in grace and developing spiritually, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
