“…In those days, I, Daniel, was mourning three full weeks. I ate no pleasant food, no meat or wine came into my mouth, nor did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled…” Daniel 10:2-3
Are you at a point in your life where you think you have prayed enough about a certain matter and still no results? Are you at that point where you are telling yourself the prayer you have prayed is sufficient? Or are you asking, “How do I know when I have prayed enough about something? When do I know that my prayers have been answered? When do I know that it’s the right time to change my prayer points? Or when do I know that I have received what I have been praying about?” Well, our opening text gives us a vivid example of how we can know when our prayers have been answered. The Bible recorded an account of how Daniel set himself to seek the Lord and when he did, he didn’t stop praying until he received a visitation from the Angel of the Lord who said to him, “…do not fear Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand and to humble yourself before God, your words were heard; and I have come because of your words….” Daniel 10:12 (NKJV).
When you take a look at this, it lets us know that from the very first day we begin to pray to the Lord, He hears us, and answers our prayers and makes the answer to our prayer available. Just the same way He sent the Angel to Daniel the very first day he was praying. But the question that arises then is; why did the Angel take so long to come up with the answer? Why did Daniel have to pray for so long before the angel came to him? It is simple, demonic hindrances! This is the same hindrance that many Christians face today. They pray but get hindered and when they don’t see the answers to their prayers they stop praying. Well, there are few things you must understand about prayers. When the Lord sends the answers to our prayers, the devil tries to delay the result, to make it look like God has not answered our prayers, just like he did with Daniel where the angel bringing the answer to Daniel was held bound (Daniel 10:13). But because he continued steadfastly in his prayers and supplication, his answer finally came. So I am saying the same thing to you today. It doesn’t matter how long you have prayed, do not give up in your prayer until you have received your answer. Never say to yourself, I have prayed but God is not answering me. God is not wicked, he is more interested in answering your prayers than you know. The Bible says “…the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and His ears are attentive to their cry…” Psalm 34:15(NKJV).
Today’s Rhema
Don’t stop praying until you see results because your answer is closer than you think!
Confession for the Day
Thank you Lord for giving a listening ear to my prayers. I know that the delay of answers does not mean denial. Therefore I wait patiently for the fruits and results of the prayers that I pray in Jesus name. Amen!
