“…Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him and He shall bring it to pass….” Psalm 37:4-5 (NKJV)

A growing challenge I have discovered in the lives of many Christians today is the lack of trust in God. Amazingly, many actually do think that they trust God but the way they react towards the challenges of life, speaks otherwise. Sometimes, they react in such a way that makes them look as though they have more trust in their situations than in God. For example a man, who has been diagnosed with a certain disease, suddenly begins to walk in fear and believes completely that he is about to die. He trusts the impact of the disease and concludes that he is certainly going to die. Even when you tell him, put your trust in God, he says, I know this disease very well and how it operates, but the question is, how powerful can that disease be? Is it more powerful than God? Now this is where the trust factor comes into play. Are you going to put more trust in the sickness than in God? Beloved it is important to understand that as you journey through life, your trust in God matters a lot. You have a responsibility to put all else aside and trust solely in God and in His abilities and capabilities.

I am one of those people who still think that God “…is able to do exceeding abundantly above all we ask or think…” Ephesians 3:20 (NKJV) but you see, if you are ever going to receive anything from God, you must believe that He is (God) and that He is the rewarder of them that diligently seek Him…” Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV). Therefore, I encourage you today, to purposely put your trust in God for the solutions and provisions that you so desire of Him. It is easy to say, “Well I trust God…” but if you don’t back it up with actions, those words cannot save you. So, begin today to build your trust in God and in His infallible word. Trust is something you build over time. I always tell people, trust, is when God takes you to the top of a ten storey building and says jump, though I am not down there waiting for you, but I have got your back, you will not die. Meaning that even though all else have failed, and there is practically no way out, you are not moved because you somehow know that God is with you and will not forsake you. So be encouraged to do the needful today and build your trust in God, through the studies of God’s word and abiding in what the word of God says. Refuse to accept the realities of the situation, but rather let your reality be God and His word. Let your words and your actions correspond together so that you may boldly say “the lord is on my side; I will not fear…” Psalms 118:6 (NKJV)
