Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; (Philippians 4:6 NKJV)
Most times, there is a tendency to desire more from God without taking time to appreciate what God has already done for us. So, you might see someone who has a job suddenly lose value for it and start desiring something better. You might see someone who owns a car suddenly lose value for that car and begin desiring a newer or better model. Now, there is nothing wrong with desiring something better, but when that desire makes you lose sight of the fact that God has already blessed you with these things, it becomes an issue.
Beloved, as you walk with God, it is important that you consciously place value on the things God has blessed you with. This is something you have to do deliberately. If you don’t, you may never truly see or acknowledge what God is doing in your life. Sadly, this is where many people find themselves today. They are busy desiring many things but never pause to thank God for the victories He has already given them. They neglect to thank God for the blessings He has bestowed upon them, and this is not the way God wants us to live.
Therefore, I encourage you to value the things you already have. Appreciate God every day for the blessings He has given to you. Genuinely acknowledge every single blessing and benefit God has brought into your life. Celebrate them with a grateful heart and consciously give value to what God has done for you. Now, you might ask, “Does this mean we should not aspire for more?” I haven’t said that. There is nothing wrong with aspiring for more, but don’t do it with an ungrateful spirit. Approach your aspirations with thanksgiving in your heart. Don’t act like someone who has nothing. Rather, act like someone who recognizes and deeply values the things God has blessed them with and is thankfully expectant for more. When this is your attitude as you pursue your aspirations, you will surely prevail. Praise God!

Confession for the day
Father, I am grateful for this wonderful truth. I am grateful for everything You have done for me and blessed me with. I do not take it for granted, and I attach importance to every bit of it, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
