Jesus preaching to a crowd of followers in the desert

But why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do the things which I say? — Luke 6:46 (NKJV)

Having established the importance of true surrender to the Lordship of Jesus, someone might ask, “But what is in it for me?” As mentioned in the previous article, when you fully submit to Jesus and His commands, you are the one who ultimately gains from it.

Jesus said, Whoever comes to Me, and hears My sayings and does them, I will show you whom he is like: He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently against that house, and could not shake it, for it was founded on the rock. But he who heard and did nothing is like a man who built a house on the earth without a foundation, against which the stream beat vehemently; and immediately it fell. And the ruin of that house was great. — Luke 6:47-49 (NKJV)

Did you see that? When you train yourself to follow His commands, you lay the right foundation for your life. No matter what you face or go through, you will not sink, because your obedience to His word serves as a sure, unshakeable foundation. Therefore, I encourage you today to truly follow His commands and watch your life move from glory to glory.

Today’s Rhema

When you truly follow His commands, nothing will bring you down!

Prayer

Father, I am grateful that You have helped me understand the benefits of submitting to the Lordship of Jesus and following His commands. I choose to be fully obedient to His word. As I do this, I know I will bear fruit, and nothing shall shake me, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
