“…they found Adonibezek there and fought him. He ran away, but they chased him, caught him, and cut off his thumbs and big toes. Adonibezek said, “Seventy kings with their thumbs and big toes cut off have picked up scraps under my table. God has now done to me what I did to them.” He was taken to Jerusalem, where he died…” Judges 1:5-7 (GNT)

How would you like others to treat you? Do you want to be treated like a king or queen? Do you want to receive kindness? Do you want to receive help from others? Well, you can receive whatever it is that you desire, but it depends on one condition. You must be able to give to others what you expect them to give to you. Unfortunately, that is not how the world works today. People want to receive from others what they are not willing to give. If you cannot be kind to others, do not expect any form of kindness from them. If you cannot help others, do not expect anyone to help you. It is that simple.

As a matter of fact, it is fraudulent to expect from others what you cannot give. Our Lord Jesus Christ revealed to us a simple law that says, “…give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you…” Luke 6:38 (NKJV). Take note of the part that says, “…for with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you….” Luke 6:38 (NKJV). Did you see that? So the question now is, what do you want to receive from others? You must learn to give the same, because what you give is what will be given to you.

Today’s Rhema

Whatever you want to receive from others, that is what you should give!

Confession for the Day

Light has come to my understanding; therefore, I decree that the grace to give out good, to give out kindness and help is at work in me and as I give to others, I receive kindness on return in the name of Jesus’ name. Amen!
