“….But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love….”II Peter 1:5‭-‬7 (NKJV)

As you journey in your Christian walk, one of the things you must do consciously is to add discipline to your faith walk. The reason is because until you are disciplined, your faith cannot really produce the desired results. For example, when things are not going the way you want them to go and you are tempted to change your confession or speak in a way that will betray your faith, it is discipline that will make you hold back. Therefore, it is important to become conscious of this area of your life. Many of God’s people over time have not been able to prove their faith in God’s word even though they believe in God. They pray and fast quite alright but when the pressures of their challenge becomes too much, they compromise on their faith walk because discipline is absent.

So, I urge you today to become conscious of this truth. Don’t leave your faith like that, add discipline to it. Take out time to nurture discipline in your life and the best way to do this is to meditate on the scriptures regularly so that you can build your confidence. When confidence in God is built, discipline in your faith walk becomes easy. And guess what, discipline is not the only thing you add to your faith. The Bible says, “….add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love….”II Peter 1:5‭-‬7 (NKJV). Did you see that? Interestingly, the Bible says, “….if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ….”II Peter 1:8 (NKJV). So, be guided and carefully invest these virtues to your faith.

Today’s Rhema

If discipline is not added to your faith walk, your faith will be ineffective!

Confession for the Day

Father, I am grateful for your word that has strengthened my faith today. Therefore, I decree that the grace to add discipline to my faith is activated and as I walk in this grace my faith is bearing fruits in the name of Jesus. Amen!
