“If we say that we are in the light, yet hate others, we are in the darkness to this very hour. If we love others, we live in the light, and so there is nothing in us that will cause someone else to sin.” — 1 John 2:9-10 (GNT)
Many people take the command to love lightly, treating it as a mere moral guideline rather than a divine instruction. However, loving others is not just a suggestion—it is a command from the Lord. Jesus Himself said: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. The second most important commandment is this: ‘Love your neighbor as you love yourself.’ There is no other commandment more important than these two.” — Mark 12:30-31 (GNT).
If love weren’t important, Jesus wouldn’t have emphasized it. To love others is to follow His command, not an optional act of kindness. The Bible clearly states: “If we say that we are in the light, yet hate others, we are in the darkness to this very hour. If we love others, we live in the light, and so there is nothing in us that will cause someone else to sin.” — 1 John 2:9-10 (GNT). Did you see that? Walking in love is evidence that you are truly living in the light.
People will offend you, betray you, and step on your toes, but your responsibility is not to hate or judge them—it is to love them. Don’t allow the world to define love for you; instead, let God teach you how to love. And loving God’s way means embracing people despite their shortcomings. Hallelujah!

Confession for the Day
Father, I am grateful for this revelation. I choose to see love as a command, not just a moral code. As I walk in love, I excel in my relationships with others and shine as a light in this world. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
