“…whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the gospels will save it…” —Mark 8:35  (NKJV)

Having established the fact that if you truly want to find yourself, you have to be in Christ, it is important to understand that beyond being in Christ, you truly have to abide in Him and follow Him. The words of our Lord Jesus Christ, concerning this matter, are very clear. He Himself said, “…whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the gospels will save it, for what shall it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? Mark 8:34-37(NKJV) Did you see that?

In the message translation, it reads, “…anyone who intends to come with me has to let me lead. You’re not in the driver’s seat; I am. Don’t run from suffering; embrace it. Follow me and I will show you how. Self-help is no help at all. Self- sacrifice is the way, my way, to saving yourself, your true self. What good would it do to get everything you want and lose you, the real you? What could you ever trade your soul for? This lets us know that there is a true you, and that you is the you that needs to be found when you deny yourself and follow Jesus”.

So I admonish you today, to ponder on these things, if you truly want to make your life count, you must consider this truth. Stop struggling with trying to lead yourself and make things happen in your life. Receive Jesus as the Lord of your life and after you have done that, lean on Jesus, learn from Him, and let His words be your guiding light in all that you do. I guarantee that you will not regret it and will be a delightful person. Praise God!

No Jesus, No meaningful life!

Confession for the Day

Dear heavenly father, I thank you for making available the opportunity to live a meaningful life, and that opportunity is Jesus. I declare that I will not joke with this advantage but embrace it like never before because in Him lie my life and my future. Thank you, Father, in the name of Jesus. Amen!
